The Value of Personal Development

The Value of Personal Development

values education The Value of Personal Development

It has been four years since I committed myself seriously to personal development. It is my desire to keep growing and learning until the day I die, not only for my own benefit, but for the benefit of others.

Last year during my vacation, I had a chance to witness the effect I had to my son, Justin Daniel. In a conversation with my wife, she shared how curious was his teacher about our son’s behavior and why he always excel in their Values subject. She was surprised how he managed to get high grades with very minimal effort of study. My wife told my son’s teacher, “Oh, my husband is into personal development and writes about it in his blog.” The teacher even went further by visiting my Facebook profile down to my blog site. “I wish most of the parents should practice the same values as you did as parents to your son.” remarked the teacher. “I hope he continues to write in his blog”, she further added.

I personally went through with his test results and did a sign off for the first time. He got only a mistake and I asked him about his reason for his answer. The statement was “I return books from the library on due date.” He drew a sad face and told me that it was possible to return before the due date. I asked him if he did ever borrow a book from a library and told me he never had an experience. In my opinion he was partially right. In my experience, I returned most of the books in the library before the due date.

It gave me a sense of joy and fulfillment whenever I hear this kind of story. I had been away from my family for almost 5 years but I never missed the chance to communicate and be available as possible to my son and my wife. I am even more inspired to continue in my personal development journey. The more I grow as a person, the more benefits it brings to the people around me. This means I will continue to read daily to grow in my personal life. I will listen daily to broaden my perspective. I will think daily to apply what I learn. I will file a daily journal to preserve what I learn.

As I went through the other scores from his other subjects, they we’re not as closed as his score with the Values subject. I am sure he will be able to improve his other subjects with more practice. I actually went through with his mistakes in Mathematics, showed him the correct answers and the process of solving. I was surprised why his teacher never gave them the correct answers considering there were only 5 students in the class.

As I reflect and as I try to recall when I was at his age, I was never close to being at his level of his awareness. I had a different environment, my parents was not as passionate in the personal development. Nevertheless, I had no regrets and I am more thankful for the choices that I made and for the person that I become. I am also thankful for the values that my son had and also for the person he will become. I am also grateful to my wife for being so patient nurturing our son with love and affection in his studies.

One last advice that I want to share with you my co-parents, never miss a day to say “I Love You” to your loved ones. I would like to share also our Family Values that are worth fighting for.

Here are some of his scores from his Values Education subject.

Short Prayer of Love and Gratitude

Short Note of Love and Gratitude

gratitude heart Short Prayer of Love and Gratitude

It’s been quite sometime since my last article. I missed my home. I missed this place. Good opportunities come and I am grateful to share my online skills by adding value to other people’s lives.

Anyway, so I am dropping by to send gratitude and love to the universe. I am so grateful to God for the person that I become and the potentiality of becoming more. The being ness in every moment as I get the chance to meet, share and hear inspiring stories from the people I met in the community both online and offline. I am grateful for the people that I attracted on a mutual level of sub consciousness. I continue to send positive vibrations of love, hope, gratitude and joy from these note. I’m sending my love to my family and friends away from this place. I fervently pray for God’s undying love and protection. I keep my faith and trust in God for the offered prayers. Let it be your will, my God. Thank you for the virtue of perseverance. The hope of good life, of becoming more and so others will become more as well. I pray for tranquility, amen.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
-The Bible Phil 4:6 NKJV

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” – John F. Kennedy

“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.”

-Brian Tracy

“Life without thankfulness is devoid of love and passion. Hope without thankfulness is lacking in fine perception. Faith without thankfulness lacks strength and fortitude. Every virtue divorced from thankfulness is maimed and limps along the spiritual road.” -John Henry Jowett

CFC FFL Singapore – Sharing God’s Love to Us

First of all I am writing this topic to share the wonders of God's love to me and to share His love to all of us.  Ever since I came here to Singapore and started a commitment to my never ending personal development blog, the next best thing that came to my life was God's community. CFC FFL Singapore (Couples For Christ – Foundation for Family and Life) is a community of God's love and a commitment to my spiritual growth. I remember writing a Family Mission Statement based from one of our household gatherings which was a challenge for me and for other brothers and sisters in Christ as well. What really touched me was when my wife told me about my 7 year old son, Jed's sharing about family mission statement in school. Her teacher really appreciated and thanked us for our son's sharing. She wished that if only every family will practice the same kind of teachings, our country will be a better place to live in. Wow! that brought tears to my eyes. It was never my plan to join any religious program or organization having attended different religious groups from the past. I attended my first seminar during the second half of 2008 when my friend invited me and told me that dinner was free.  Without hesitation I attended the seminar with the food  in my mind and did it again and again for the next series of seminars or talks. Yes I was indeed nourished by the food served to us.  But it was from the talks and sharing of personal experiences that gave me the nourishment of my spirit. It is truly a blessing to belong to a community of God’s servants considering that my family is not with me here in Singapore. When you're alone working in a foreign country, any temptations are possible. CFC FFL community is a place where you can share your personal problems, inspirational stories, love, gratitude, fun and the smiles the can melt a heart. Indeed a family that you can count on whatever prayer requests you need, whether for a good health, a good career, or just a better relationship. Here, I was able to communicate my personal challenges in life, my experiences in personal development and also learned from others more challenging experiences. When I listened to other people's experiences, I realized that my personal challenges are small compared to their life experiences. I heard about a wife leaving a successful business  in the Philippines despite family and friends continuous discouragement of living a new life to be with her husband and family. Others shared their success and blessings from their career through continuous hard work, persistence and prayers. Truly with God nothing is impossible. It is through our abilities to believe, to desire and unwavering faith that we can achieve what we want in life. I highly encouraged those who are away from their loved ones or  for those who simply need peace at home with their family to seek us to share God's love. I'm not limiting your choices to our group, there are also wonderful communities that will suit to your culture, religion, beliefs, or faith. What is important is you develop a personal and spiritual relationship with God and the people that you can connect with your life experiences. I assure and guarantee you that the time you spend with God and the relationship you develop with your community is truly worthy of your time. To you, I offer you my short prayer of gratitude for visiting my site. I wish and pray for you all the good things that you deserved in life. To share the blessings that you deserved to our fellow. To learn from the bad things to become a better person.  Please share  God's Love to Us, Amen!
