Finding Your Passion!

I had a great time last night at our Personal Excellence and Growth Meetup by Mr. Patrick Lim and Ms. Jessica See. The topic of our discussion was “When Dream and Passion collide Success is inevitable”.

Just to share some bits from what I’ve learned about finding your passion. Passion is something that fuels your purpose, why you are here in this world.

Passion is something you

-  love to do

-  enjoy doing it

- feel strongly about it

- are drawn to it ( attracts)

- feel good doing it

- like to talk about it ( again and again)

- feel excited about it

- want to keep doing it

- can show expression

from my own experience, it is something that I kept on thinking about it even when am asleep or at work, I spend a lot of time and energy on it,  i write about it (now you know why I have a blog).

So what about you?  Share me your Passion.

Finally with the help of my wife, I managed to create a success journal. This will be my greatest gift to myself of all occasions (father’s day, birthday, new year, etc) so far. Btw, thanks to my wife for creating it patiently. You see I do a lot of note taking whenever I attended a talk, seminar, learning experiences, ideas, from books I read, friends that I talked to  but I wrote this mostly in sheets of paper, notebooks (runs out of pages quickly). So this time I make sure its a thick one that will last longer.

Home Sweet Home again

I am here at home in Mandaluyong City, Philippines  spending time with the family and time to celebrate my son, Justin Daniel (a.k.a. JED) 7th birthday today. I managed to teach my son yesterday how to create his own blog at http://justindanielcastaneda.blogspot.com/. He is currently having fun playing his Nintendo DS lite as my gift to him for being top in his class as grade 1 last year. Now is the opening month of school here in the Philippines and I’m here to have a great time with the family despite the rainy season here.

I managed to watch tv here again though I really seldom watch at singapore. It was my only time to watch a replay of  NBA championship (i know L.A. Lakers is the champion). Prior to the game I managed to watch a NBA championship classic between the Huston Rockets and New York Knicks. Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon, an all-star center of Huston Rockets had been my favorite and a model when I was very active playing back in college in University of the Philippines. I remember dreaming and playing his moves in my mind when asleep. When he received his MVP award  as a champion team, he told that “you know that basketball is a team sport and I share this award with my teammates”. Truly they were a complete team and a great coach Rudy Tomjanovich who guided them to two NBA championships in 1994 and 1995.

Welcome to Singapore!

Finally, i made it to the Lion City . Actually, it was my third time since 2004 when I came here for a business training in Autodesk at Orchard. The second one was a month ago for my interview with my employer. I  was actually already working that time so I got paid for my airfare and it was a good deal afterall.

It was strange as I got lost on my way to the flat (apartment) and went down on the wrong bus stop.  It was too soon, perhaps by my eagerness, excitment and cluelessness about my direction. I had to walk with my trolley and backpack around to a 1-2 kilometer hike. My filipina housemate, Mimi was shocked to see me drenched in my sweat but with an eager smile.

So that’s how my first day in Singapore lah.
